Hope this blog post finds you achieving all of your 2018 resolutions! It’s no secret I’m a proponent of a healthy, plant-based lifestyle, so I thought I'd list of some of my favorite spots to grab a healthy bite without a lot of guilt. Not all of these are vegan, but all of them offer delicious WHOLE PLANT FOODS for the busy person on the go. And who doesn't need more of that in their life?!
Located Uptown, this new restaurant is my new favorite plant-based lunch spot. I really like that they include the calorie counts on their menu, in case you're keeping track. The NOLA bowl is so so yummy!
Located in the CBD and in the St. Roch Market, The Daily Beet serves salads, bowls, and toasts. The menu isn't totally plant-based, but they've got plenty of great vegan options for breakfast and lunch.
Located on Magazine Street, Superfood Bar is my smoothie go-to spot. They have a really great selection of raw salads and cold-pressed juices. Honestly, I really head there for the smoothies, but my friend loves the wraps too.
As the name implies, the whole menu is raw. Raw Republic has my favorite green juices in town along with great wraps and other snacks. Confession: I have developed a pretty serious addiction to their dehydrated fig bars.
Seed has vegan alternatives of some of your favorite comfort foods, like po-boys, nachos, and beignets. It’s a great spot to splurge without breaking your caloric bank. I get the nachos with seitan almost every time, but my 10-year-old can't get enough of the tofu nuggets.
Poke Loa bowls are served cafeteria-style which gives you a lot of control over what you put in them. Since I’m vegan, I skip the Poke all together (although they do have a tofu option), but I never feel like I'm missing out.
